Superfoods |

Superfoods are never long out of the press and I can imagine that many of you saw superfoods hitting the news on national tv in recent months. Sadly it seems that there was just a total focus on the fact that indeed some of these superfoods are expensive.
I just wanted to add my two pennies worth to the argument:
Cost:
Exactly who has been trying to tell people that they need to live exclusively off of superfoods. These are incredibly powerful sources of some very complex nutrition, and should in essence be considered a food supplement, ie a little each day. Granted, people like myself that are into this in a major way probably include 20-30 different superfoods in our diets a day, but that is through choice. If people were only to add one or two of the most relevant superfoods to them, that in itself would have a massive impact on their lives.
Super foods are apparently no different from ordinary fruit n veg:
This foolhardy statement comes from people who evidently have no capacity to study the biochemical and nutritional content of some superfoods in comparison to regular foods. These comments were made by people who operate from a purely theoreticl mindset and who have not actively studied the positive impact of these foods. Many of these superfoods get their title because they contain significant levels of some unique nutrients that would normally be quite hard to get from a regular western diet. Goji berries for example contain significant levels of the trace mineral germanium. This mineral increases the production of of cells called CD4 cells. These cells are like a conductor of an orchestra, that commands various elements of the immune system and tells different cells what to do.
Lack of evidence:
Apart from the several thousand trials that have been carried out at various universities and medical schools. What these pompus twits actually mean is, there are no studies that are privately funded (ie by a large drug company) that have found any claims regarding superfoods to be true. Ermmm......no kidding sherlock! Do you really think that research would be published by a pharmaceutical company that automatically makes their products redundant...me thinks not.
Read between the lines people!!!!
